The Recoda Restaurant
is located along Moi Avenue Mombasa just after the famous Elephant Tusks
as you head to Docks. It specializes in excellent swahili dishes including
Biriani, Chicken Tikka, Mishkaki and other mouth-watering coastal cuisine.
Among the first restaurants to start street dining at the Kenya coast,
the atmosphere is casual and laid back with an emphasis on freshly prepared
dishes. Their freshly squeezed fresh juices are good value for money.
Service
is attentive and one can order directly from the BBQ chef whose cooking
station is moved right on the street during the evening hours. You also
have the option is sitting in the inner part of the restaurant. Very
popular with visitors in Mombasa!
The open street dining at Recoda provides a lively and comfortable place
to relax as you enjoy your evening meal while watching the traffic passing
by a few feet away.
Pricing
The pricing for main courses starts from Kshs. 120/= (appx US$ 2) for
a meal like the chicken biriani and upto Kshs. 350/= (appx US$ 5) for
fresh fish and seafood. Soft drinks start from Kshs. 30/= (appx US$
0.50). No alcoholic drinks are served.
